Pocono Mountains

THE PERFECT PLACE TO FIND YOUR DREAM

Look to Pocono Mountain real estate, especially in the Lake Wallenpaupack area, for the perfect place to vacation, retire or raise a family

Throughout the 1980's and '90's, Monroe and Pike counties, considered the “heart of the Poconos”, have ranked first and second in percentage of population growth among all Pennsylvania counties.  Along with the population expansion of Monroe and Pike, Carbon and Wayne counties have also seen a considerable population increase in recent years as people continue to see the advantage of relocating to this beautiful, diversified region.

While the growth of the area has brought additional resources and conveniences, we've still not lost the rural atmosphere that everyone here lovesPeople are attracted to the Poconos because of the quality of life:

  • The air is clean here, and wildlife is plentiful.
  • Brooks, ponds and waterfalls are sprinkled throughout the region.
  • Pristine rivers and creeks offer boating and fishing opportunities.
  • Thousands of acres of state game lands lure hunters.
  • Good schools, safe neighborhoods and relatively low cost of living and taxes (taxes are approximately half the rates in New Jersey, for example)

Pocono Mountain Real EstateAnd, the scenery is nothing short of remarkable! From pastoral views of rolling farmlands to dramatic mountain cliffs, opportunities for recreation and to just take in the landscape are incredibly diverse. Horseback riding, golf, skiing, hiking and biking are just a sample of popular outdoor activities enjoyed here by all ages. These are just some of the reasons people choose to live and vacation in the Poconos!

AROUND THE AREA

Situated off scenic U.S. Route 6 is beautiful man made Lake Wallenpaupack, offering 55 miles of idyllic shoreline.  There are also many other lakes and lake-side communities throughout the region, providing year 'round water recreation.

North of Lake Wallenpaupack are the charming Victorian towns of Hawley and Honesdale. The Lake Region is rich in history and culture, offering many fine museums and historical landmarks. Honesdale is the birthplace of the American railroad where you can still ride the rails today running along the Lackawaxen River from Honesdale to the quaint village of Lackawaxen.

Recent years have seen the construction of shopping centers that include superstores, supermarkets, cinemas, convenience stores and plenty of charming boutiques and antique stores. Arts and crafts fairs abound, along with outdoor concerts and cultural events. For all you golfers, you'll be delighted with the selection of golf courses, whether you're a beginner or looking for a challenge.

The wide assortment of Pocono real estate, plus the variety of recreational opportunities, means that there is something for everyone to enjoy in the heart of the Pocono Mountains!
